Reducing Isolation sessions

A welcoming environment for the ageing community

A way to prevent loneliness and improve health through physical and mental activity

We have two group sessions aimed at reducing isolation and loneliness.

Together Tuesday at Hadleigh Lesiure Centre and Sporting Memories at Kingfisher Leisure Centre, Sudbury.

Who is the Together Tuesday for?

Together Tuesday is there for people of all abilities and all ages. Whether you have physical or mental disabilities, or have seen or unseen conditions such as dementia, we can provide an afternoon which enhances your quality of life. Staff and volunteers are there to help you feel as safe as possible and where appropriate lend a listening ear.

We can offer support and advice to people, share helpful information including information about local organisations and groups. On some weeks staff from organisations such as Suffolk Family Carers and Healthwatch visit and you can book a slot to talk to them 1-1.

What activities do we do Together?

We offer a mixture of physcial and mental activities of all different levels to make sure that nobody is left out. Activities include:

  • Table Cricket
  • Boccia
  • Chair-based Exercises
  • Quizzes
  • Bingo
  • Sing-a-long
  • Arts and Crafts
  • And much more!

We also run a number of special events throughout the year. This includes things such as visiting the theatre, a fish and chip lunch or pancakes on Shrove Tuesday.

What does it mean to be TOGETHER?

As we get older, many of us are in need of some company, and the opportunity to take part in physical and mental activities, form new friendships or rekindle old ones.

At the Together Tuesday we attempt to offer this. Every week we will have a number of fantastic activities available to keep you physically and mentally stimulated, and a part of the Together community.

Together Tuesday

I work closely with Charlie and together we share a passion to support people living in the community and to maintain their independence and quality of life for as long as possible. Together Tuesday has received both County and National recognition, and it’s something that I’m very proud to be a part of.

Over the last 7 years, we have offered people the opportunity to meet others, share a cuppa and take part in  physical and mental activities focussing on the strengths they still possess.

Jill Mason

Together Group Co-ordinator

I’m incredibly privilidged to be able to support in the development and imple-mentation of innovative community-based physical activity programmes throughout Suffolk.

Together Tuesday is designed to help the local community live healthier and more connected lives through physical and social activities in a fun, safe and supportive environment.

I work closely with Jill to achieve our aspirations of a healthy community!
