Why our customers make their move
Moving keeps me connected
I feel fortunate that I don’t have any back problems and I keep in quite good health, despite my age. The gym definitely helps with this but more importantly it’s the purpose and routine that it gives me and a connection to other people.
Whilst I was caring for my husband who had Parkinsons disease, exercising was my respite and now that he has died it is my lifeline.
Moving makes me feel alive
I started swimming to combat menopausal symptoms and Parkinson’s. Even though I’m not physically disabled or that unwell, exercising improves the symptoms of both.
I love open water swimming and it’s exhilarating, which makes me feel so alive, I love it!
But equally a swim in the pool is still hugely beneficial and I get a great night’s sleep after I’ve exercised, which any woman in their menopause will tell you is amazing.

No one gets to choose how you exercise other than you. Your body, your call. And whatever that looks like, we think it’s worth celebrating. This Girl Can, funded by The National Lottery, believes that there’s no “right” way to get active. However you jiggle, kick, lift, stretch, or sprint, it’s time to get moving how you damn please.
