This year’s Bury Goes Biking event is on Sunday 29 September from 10:00-14:00
About the event
The event is COMPLETELY FREE to enter, and although pre-registrations online are now closed – you can still turn up on Sunday and register on the day at Market Square.
This year’s event has again been made possible by funding from Bury St Edmunds Town Council.
The event is also supported by West Suffolk Council, Suffolk County Council and Bury Sport.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT THE EVENT:
EVENT START/FINISH POINT
The start and finish point for the event this year is on Butter Market, Bury St Edmunds.
CHECK IN/CHECK OUT
Please note all riders must check in at the St Nicholas Hospice’s registration tent, located in the Market Square close to the start/finish point, to collect high visibility vests which must be worn while you are cycling the route.
When you have finished riding the route, you must please return your high visibility vest back to the registration team and check out.
PARTICIPANT SAFETY
Bury Goes Biking operates a ‘no helmet, no ride’ policy.
A helmet is to be worn at all times during the event along with the high visibility jacket.
This is a closed road event but all participants must be proficient in cycle safety.
This event is open to all ages, with all under 16 participants being accompanied by an adult.
The events team, including all marshals and volunteers, reserve the right to refuse any participant, they feel is unfit to take part safely, from riding.
As a participant, you agree to take part entirely at your own risk and you are fully responsible for your actions whilst attending this event.
The organising committee cannot be held responsible for any losses, damage or personal accidents incurred during this event.
The organisers reserve the right to reschedule the event, due to extreme weather conditions.
PARTICIPANT WELFARE
Please ensure you wear suitable clothing for the event, the time of year and the weather.
Please ensure you bring suitable water supplies to stay suitably hydrated.
The nearest toilets to the main event hub are located in the Apex, Arc Shopping Centre.
BIKE PARKING
A free bike parking facility will be available in the Market Square, to allow participants to also spend some time enjoying the historic centre of Bury St Edmunds once you have completed your ride. If you wish to use this facility please ensure that you bring a suitable lock to secure your bicycle(s).
