Leisure Team Member Apprentice

What is this Vacancy? The role of a Leisure Team member is to support, enhance and deliver day to day operations and services of a leisure/fitness facility. Working as part of a team it is responsibility of the leisure team member to undertake a range of operational duties such as assisting with opening and closing, undertaking routine maintenance of equipment, and maintaining cleanliness and safety of the environment. You will be learning the role whilst gaining a range of qualifications as a Leisure Team Member Apprentice.

How long is the Apprenticeship? 18 months

What Qualification(s) will I gain in the Apprenticeship?

  • Swim England Level 2 in teaching or an STA Level 2 certificate in Swim Teaching
  • NPLQ/IQL Level 2 Award in Pool Lifeguarding
  • Level 3 certificate in First Aid
  • Level 2 Certificate in Fitness or Gym Instruction

How much will I be paid? Your hourly rate in your 1st year of your Apprenticeship will be £4.30 per hour, uplifted to between £8.21 and £8.91 in your 2nd year (dependant on age).

What hours are available? 35 Hours (Average) Per Week – 20% of your hours will be allocated for Study time. A working pattern will be agreed if successful within the role.

Do I need qualifications for this role? The role will require you to have passed your English and Maths Level 2 to complete the apprenticeship (GCSE’s). You can apply without and to partake in a test to gain Level 2 in those subjects before taking your end-point assessment.

Are there any staff benefits? All contracted staff gain free use of Abbeycroft Leisure’s Health, Swim, and Fitness Facilities. We also have access to Westfield Health benefits, to help support your mental and physical health whilst saving you pennies in Highstreet stores!

What is this Vacancy? The role of a Business Administrator is to support, enhance and deliver day to day operations and services of a leisure/fitness facility. Working as part of a team it is your responsibility of the Business Administrator to undertake a range of operational duties such as assisting with daily administration tasks, work with different leisure teams as required by various support functions and attend all required college training days and apprenticeship requirements. You will be learning the role whilst gaining a range of qualifications as a Business Administrator Apprentice.

How long is the Apprenticeship? 18-20 months

What Qualification(s) will I gain in the Apprenticeship?

  • Full Business Administrator Level 3 Standard.
  • Skills for Success – This module is designed by West Suffolk College to ensure you have all the personal skills and behaviours to succeed in the workplace
  • Any required Functional Skills in English or Maths
