Assistant trampoline coach, East bergholt sports CENTRE - CLOSES 20/9/19

Location: East Bergholt Sports Centre

Hours: 5 hours per week

Abbeycroft Leisure is recruiting an Assistant Trampoline Coach to join our small team to assist the Level 2 Trampoline Coach with the running of our trampoline coaching courses. The role will involve the setting up/down of the trampolines, supervising the course participants, directing them on how to improve their technique and helping to ensure the overall safety of the class.

Experience of working with children of all ages and abilities is desirable. The ideal candidate will hold their Level 1 Assistant Trampoline Coach qualification or be willing to work towards gaining it within 6 months of commencing employment with Abbeycroft Leisure

Hours of work will include:

Tuesday’s            16:45-19:15 at Hadleigh High Leisure Centre

Wednesday’s       16:45-19:15 at East Bergholt Sports Centre

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who has knowledge and experience in trampolining or is willing to work hard to gain the relevant qualifications to assist our Level 2 Trampoline Coach to deliver our popular classes.

FItness manager, Bury st edmunds leisure centre - CLOSES 25/9/19

Abbeycroft Leisure has a fantastic opportunity for a passionate, energetic and committed individual to join the organisation.  The successful candidate will be invested in through internal and external training and given the potential to develop within the organisation.  The successful individual will manage a large and successful health and fitness facility at the Bury Leisure Centre.

The role will offer an individual the opportunity to take on the exciting role of managing this fitness facility, drive performance and quality of the service delivery within the fitness team and the business. Abbeycroft Leisure has an innovative approach to delivering the latest fitness concepts and training philosophies within the fitness facilities and comprehensive group exercise programme, including Les Mills virtual classes.

The successful candidate will lead an experienced team of staff and be expected to constantly manage the sites’ performance to ensure key performance indicators and met.  Providing an excellent level of service to customers, as well as managing normal day to day operations are also key aspects of the role.  The successful candidate will assist in the implementation and delivery of a member journey and retention strategy.

The role will also include managing the group exercise programmes, junior fitness programme and supporting a successful exercise on referral scheme.  You will need experience of managing a fitness team and coordinating a group exercise programme; a leader of teams with proven skills within the fitness industry.

Skyliner boasts excellent facilities including a 45 station gym, main hall, 3G all weather pitch and 2 studios for exercise classes, including Les Mills and Les Mills Virtual. The gym comprises of cardio machines with entertainment, resistance machines, free weights and functional training equipment.

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who strives to provide a positive and high level of customer service to our members, and provide our STEPS Programme to inspire and encourage members to lead a healthier and more active lifestyle.

If you are you looking to work in a quality fitness environment and join a successful team where ongoing training and development is provided then this role could be for you! A Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification is required.

A Level 3 qualification is desirable but not essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about the fitness industry to help others reach their health and fitness goals, as well as developing your own knowledge within this role.

The successful candidate would also ideally be first aid qualified or able to be trained as a first aider. Previous experience in key holder duties is desirable. You will need to be able to provide excellent customer service and be focused on member retention. Candidates should have a pro-active nature and be able to use their own initiative, and work well in a team.

The successful candidate will oversee the general operations of the gym as well as the sports facilities. The role will involve carrying out our customer STEPS Programme – customer inductions, programme reviews and health and lifestyle assessments, as well as delivering express classes and group fitness activities. Other key expectations of the role will be to contribute to daily and weekly cleaning and maintenance tasks both in the gym and sports facilities, whilst providing a high level of customer service and interaction.

The role will also include opening and closing the building, sports and class set ups and any other reasonable tasks to support the day-to-day running of the Centre. The role is very varied and involves tasks across the Sports Centre from membership tours, reception duties, sports hall set ups, to gym programmes and HIIT classes, to name a few.

Your duties will include gym programmes, fitness assessments, and studio class teaching and day to day operations working on a shift Rota basis. Shifts involve a range of early morning shifts, evening shifts, weekends and bank holidays, including some lone working. You would be responsible for opening and closing the building on certain shifts.

We are looking for a Cleaner to join our busy cleaning team at the Bury Leisure Centre. You will be responsible for carrying out cleaning duties throughout the whole of the Leisure Centre using the appropriate cleaning resources. Knowledge of COSHH regulations would be helpful however, full training will be provided.


Are you reliable, a good time keeper and flexible with the ability to take on new responsibilities, tasks and skills? You will need be a good team player and able to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision.

Leisure Assistant/Lifeguard, BURY ST EDMUNDS LEISURE CENTRE - CLOSES 2/10/19

Abbeycroft Leisure are looking for a strong team player with good communication and customer service skills.

You should be able to work on your own initiative with a flexible approach to a busy and varied working environment. Our leisure centre prides itself on delivering a high level of customer service to our visitors each week. This happens because our team of Leisure Assistants make it their mission to deliver the high level of service required.

The post requires shift working including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. The role will require a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). Those applying without this qualification will have the opportunity to undertake full training.

The qualification requires you be able to jump/dive into deep water, tread water for 30 seconds, surface dive to the deepest part of the pool (2m), Swim 100m continuously on front and back, Swim 50m in less than 60 seconds as well as climb out of the pool unaided.
