Following its closure after a fire in September 2004, Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre will be officially re-opened (PDF) on Saturday 18 March 2006 by none other than Sir Geoff Hurst.
Sir Geoff is a football legend who scored that famous hat trick in the 1966 World Cup final to clinch victory for England and still remains the only player ever to score a hat trick in a World Cup final. Hence those immortal words:
"They think it's all over - it is now".
Sir Geoff will be available on the day to sign autographs, so bring along your England shirt.
As part of our re-opening event we have a free family fun day (PDF), packed with something for everyone and we would like you to join us in celebrating the long awaited re-opening of Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre.
A full programme for the day is included inside and as well as Sir Geoff's attendance we have a live broadcast from SGR fm's Nick Morrell, as well as a full SGR road show with the Black Thunder crew.
There are a range of prizes to give away on the day including the chance to win a year's free membership to the Leisure Centre's facilities!
