Sporting Ambassadors

The Sporting Ambassadors Scheme provides sportspeople of a national level with free access to sports facilities.

The scheme aims to reduce the financial burden of training costs and assist elite sportspeople to achieve their full potential. It was launched in May 2008 within St.Edmundsbury and we are keen to take any applications from sportspeople who meet the criteria below…

To be eligible for the scheme you must be:

• A currently selected national sportsperson from any Sport England recognised sport (at any age group) or success in any national age group competition (top 10 finishes) in the last 12 months. Supporting evidence from your governing body will be required upon application.
• A resident for the majority of the year in St.Edmundsbury.

Your membership is renewable every year.

Members of the Scheme are entitled to use the facilities in accordance with the conditions. Each centre varies in what it offers members as part of the scheme. The facilities cannot be used at times when they are not normally open and neither can training incur any extra cost (i.e. flood lighting). In return, participating facilities can use the scheme as a promotional tool and members would be expected to assist in promoting centres whenever possible and appropriate.
