Mult-I-Sport

mulit-i-sport

British Blind Sport is a registered charity and the co-ordinating body of sport for the blind and partially sighted in the UK. The charity was set up in 1975 by visually impaired people, to enable them to have a controlling interest in their various sports.

We have sections for archery, athletics, bowls, cricket, football, goalball (a sport devised for the blind and for which BBS is the Governing Body), swimming, tenpin bowling and rifle shooting. In addition there is considerable interest in judo, chess, golf, riding, sailing & skiing. We also encourage visually impaired people to pursue their chosen sports through membership of their local sighted sports clubs and aim to provide, where necessary, advice to achieve such integration.

In addition we try to provide help and support to the many professionals working with visually impaired people, particularly within leisure and recreation, sports development, education and social services.

BBS is a membership organisation for individuals and affiliated sports clubs and produces a quarterly newsletter, which is also available to those interested in the work of the charity.
